INTX, a leading transport solutions provider, is proud to highlight its growing partnership with The Mersey Forest, one of the UK’s leading community forestry initiatives. This collaboration underscores INTX’s dedication to supporting local environmental projects that make a lasting impact on communities in Merseyside and North Cheshire.
In December 2024, the INTX team took this partnership one step further by rolling up their sleeves and volunteering at Griffin Wood in St. Helens. The hands-on experience allowed the team to witness firsthand the transformative work that The Mersey Forest carries out and to contribute directly to woodland management and tree planting efforts.
As part of the partnership, INTX is providing financial support for key initiatives such as the Liverpool Standard Tree Planting Programme, which aims to plant over 500 standard trees in underfunded public areas across Liverpool. These projects focus on enhancing biodiversity, creating greener urban spaces, and promoting environmental sustainability.
Managing Director Andrew Globe highlighted the importance of the collaboration:
“Our partnership with The Mersey Forest aligns with our values as a company. Sustainability is central to our mission at INTX, and it’s incredibly rewarding to know we are contributing to creating greener, healthier spaces for our community.”
To deepen their understanding of the partnership’s impact, members of the INTX team joined The Mersey Forest for a volunteering day on Friday, 13th December 2024. The day involved clearing overgrown areas, coppicing, and planting new oak trees, activities critical to the long-term health and biodiversity of local woodlands.
Reflecting on the day, Andrew Globe shared:
“It was so rewarding to step away from the office and get involved in the work happening at Griffin Wood. Meeting The Mersey Forest team and learning more about their efforts was inspiring, and getting hands-on with tree planting and woodland management brought home the importance of the work we’re supporting.”
Ric, Operations and Finance Specialist at INTX, added:
“The passion and knowledge of The Mersey Forest team were incredible. Understanding the ‘why’ behind each step of woodland management made the day even more meaningful. I’m already looking forward to returning in years to come to see the oak trees we planted thriving.”
INTX’s partnership with The Mersey Forest reflects a shared commitment to sustainability and community transformation. By combining financial contributions with active involvement, INTX supports projects that promote urban greening, biodiversity, and environmental education.
“Collaborating with The Mersey Forest allows us to go beyond business as usual and make a tangible difference in the communities where we live and work,” says Globe. “We’re proud to contribute to these vital local initiatives and look forward to continuing this partnership in the years ahead.”
