AS A CITY RENOWNED FOR ITS RICH HISTORY, INNOVATION, AND RESILIENCE LIVERPOOL IS PROUD TO TAKE CENTRE STAGE AS THE HOST OF THE PRESTIGIOUS MIA SUMMIT AND miaList AWARDS IN NOVEMBER 2024.
This is more than just another event for us; it’s testament to the dedication of our local business events community and the Liverpool Convention Bureau (LCB) team, who have worked tirelessly to elevate Liverpool City Region (LCR) as a leading business events destination.
The Meetings Industry Association (MIA) has selected Liverpool not only for its world-class facilities but also for its commitment to excellence and sustainability, values we hold dear. LCB is also a proud sponsor of the miaList Sustainability Award, reflecting our shared vision for a greener future.
Kerrin MacPhie, Chief Executive of the MIA, said:
“Alongside LCB, we have 68 members in the North West with 23 in Liverpool alone, offering world-class facilities while being committed to service excellence, legal compliance and sustainability. So, thanks to its excellent transport links, Liverpool was a natural choice to host our flagship events – the miaSummit and miaList.
“The LCB team has played a pivotal role in establishing the Liverpool City Region as a hub for high-quality business meetings and events and continues to set a high benchmark. As such, we’re delighted that LCB is proudly sponsoring our miaList Sustainability Award – reflecting our shared values and vision for a greener future.”
WHAT IS MIA ACCREDITATION AND WHY IT MATTERS?
MIA accreditation is a trusted badge of quality, promoting best practices, safety, and operational excellence in the meetings and events industry. This accreditation not only distinguishes LCR as a top-tier destination but also showcases our commitment to providing safe, secure, and sustainable events. Liverpool Convention Bureau is one of the many MIA-accredited entities within the region, and we’re thrilled to be part of this influential network.
I’m also thrilled to tell you that Liverpool Convention Bureau has also been shortlisted for the MIA’s Destination Team of the Year category—a true honour that recognises the hard work we’ve put into promoting Liverpool as a premier events destination. From conferences to incentives, our dream team at LCB has focused on creating opportunities that attract more business events and elevate the experience for visitors and organisers alike.
THE POWER OF PARTNERSHIP
In recent years, we have formed valuable partnerships with numerous MIA-accredited businesses across the region, making Liverpool a seamless, well-connected, and professional destination for international and domestic events. The impact of MIA accreditation reaches far beyond the industry; it elevates our entire city, positioning Liverpool as a beacon of quality in the global meetings sector.
