What are we consulting on?
Liverpool City Council are undertaking a survey to understand the views of businesses in the city about their future growth potential and premises requirements. It seeks to understand the suitability of their existing premises, as well as if they might need to expand or are likely to move to new premises.
The purpose of this survey is to inform an ‘Employment Land and Premises’ Study that our contracted consultants (Iceni Projects) are undertaking on our behalf, which will support an update of the council’s Local Plan. The results will also be used to inform other emerging economic strategies.
All councils must prepare a local plan which guides the long-term strategic spatial development of their area. Find out more about the current Local Plan.
Your feedback will help us to understand levels of satisfaction with current business premises in Liverpool and what business requirements may look like in the future.
Your response is important to us so that we can plan for suitable and sustainable employment land and premises and ensure that the City’s businesses can thrive and prosper.
Liverpool City Council have commissioned Iceni Projects to develop and carry out the survey. Iceni Projects are a planning consultancy with significant experience and expertise in undertaking employment land studies for councils. They have developed the survey questions with the council, built the survey and will collect and analyse the results.

What happens to my views?
All individual business responses will be treated as fully confidential and non-identifiable. Information will be held securely by the council and their contracted consultants (Iceni Projects) and will be used solely for the purposes of the work as stated.
Iceni ask for your details on the survey so we can contact you to discuss your comments if we need to. You will not be contacted about your answers unless you opt in to be contacted and provide your details.
Your comments may be included in the consultation report given to committee and published on this website, but your name and details will not appear next to them without your consent. All comments will be kept solely for the purposes of this consultation and will be destroyed 12 months after it closes.
What happens next?
The answers will feed into the Employment Land and Premises Study that Iceni Projects are undertaking on our behalf. This will be published as part of the evidence base for the Local Plan Review.
