VACANCY: Head of Visitor Economy – Reshape the future of Liverpool City Region’s visitor economy

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced destination management professional to amplify Liverpool city region’s international reputation as a leading global visitor destination. This important role will lead and shape Liverpool city region’s profile on the world stage and support the creation and development of the region’s Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP).

In this unique collaboration between Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and Liverpool City Council you’ll strategically position Liverpool City Region as being at the very forefront of Europe’s leading visitor destinations. As the Head of Visitor Economy, you’ll play a pivotal role in steering Liverpool City Region’s LVEP, the UK government’s new vision in destination management.

Key Responsibilities for the Head of Liverpool City Region Visitor Economy:

  • Developing an innovative delivery model for LVEP, developing and leading opportunities across the Liverpool City Region boroughs of Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St. Helens and Wirral.
  • Developing and delivering the city region’s visitor economy strategy with an internationally competitive and sustainable destination management plan.
  • Managing strategic relationships with the LVEP Board, stakeholders and partners.
  • Supporting visitor economy growth through a robust commercial strategy.
  • Leading the interface with national bodies, advocating the City Region’s interests, lobbying Government and aligning strategy with VisitEngland objectives.
  • Driving social value through activities, ensuring our residents and communities remain at the heart of our delivery.
  • Representing Visitor Economy on behalf of Liverpool City Region, acting as the spokesperson for LVEP.

To be successful in the role of Head of Liverpool City Region Visitor Economy you will have:

  • Proven track record of working in the Visitor Economy sector and shaping destination marketing.
  • Budget management and income generation across the public and private sector.
  • Leading and managing multifaceted teams.
  • Stakeholder engagement at a senior level across regional, national and international partners.
