From Friday 27 October to Sunday 5 November, Liverpool’s free outdoor art gallery will illuminate the city centre from 5pm to 9pm, with this year’s theme ‘United By Light’ paying homage to the United By Music strapline – used when Liverpool hosted the Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of Ukraine in May 2023.

River of Light – United by Light

River of Light is an outdoor illuminated gallery on Liverpool Waterfront, a 2KM loop, featuring light and sound from local, national and international artists.
11 artworks created by artists from all over the world will light up Liverpool Waterfront each night from 5pm – 9pm.
River of Light is a completely free, self-guided trail with no need to book or buy tickets. Plan your visit in advance and use the map below to plan your route.
River of Light Quiet Hour
- River of Light will be organising a ‘Quiet Hour’ for this year. This will take place during the following days/times
- Sunday 29th October 2023 & Wednesday 01st November 2023
- 1600hrs – 1700hrs
- Measures that will be in place during the ‘Quiet Hour’ staging will be different for each installation and further details can be found in the individual sections
