Attractions have received accolades based on the scores they obtained following their annual VisitEngland Visitor Attraction Quality Scheme assessment.
Marketing Liverpool’s Acting Head of Visitor Economy, Sue Finnegan, said:
“This is wonderful news for Liverpool as these accolades are a perfect fit for our USP as a city region. The Museum of Liverpool tells the incredible story of our city, our remarkable heritage and our ongoing contribution to the world, covering history, culture, music, sport and entertainment.
“The fact that this story is so well received and highly-regarded by visitors says something special about its value. Visitors to Liverpool want to enjoy and feel part of our rich and immersive heritage and culture Visitors want to experience Liverpool in a deeper, more informative way, and I think that quality is absolute gold dust to a destination. Liverpool is a place than never leaves you.
“Port Sunlight Museum is another stand-out jewel in our crown, showing visitors how Liverpool City Region has directly advanced the worlds of manufacturing and health and life sciences, on a global scale, leading industry and improving lives all over the world, through both innovation and entrepreneurship – all whilst offering an amazing welcome.
“Both these accolades help to position Liverpool City Region as an exciting and impactful destination and demonstrate our strong sense of pride in who we are, what we have achieved in the world, what we stand for and exactly why Liverpool is deservedly world-famous. The teams at Museum of Liverpool and Port Sunlight Museum should be very proud of all their hard work and dedication. These things don’t just happen. People make them happen and they have absolutely smashed it and we could not be happier for them.”
Liverpool City Region’s ‘Fab 4 Taxi Tours’ were also selected as winners of the accolades ‘Best Told Story’ in the North West of England, thanks to their inspiring business journey and excellent, friendly service. Sue Finnegan added:
