Bold Street and Castle street will come alive with cocktail demos, marching bands, street performers and the chance to find the best Scouse busker, as plans are unveiled for Liverpool’s ‘Celebrating” city events, returning for the first time after the pandemic.
Liverpool BID Company’s ‘Celebrating Bold Street’ and ‘Celebrating Castle Street’ events are back this August after a 3-year hiatus. Organised by Liverpool BID Company, the free events are an opportunity to enjoy and celebrate the unique character of the streets and their local and independent businesses.
At Celebrating Castle Street on Sunday 6 August there will be an incredible range of activities with the likes of chef and cocktail creation demos from The Alchemist, Gaucho, Bacaro, Bouchon, Piccolino and Riva Blu. The street itself will come alive with performance and colour as street performers entertain the crowds. There will be giant puppet waiters, glitter artists and the tub-thumping sounds from Batala Mersey with the softer tones of live jazz at Bouchon. Free yoga classes and a ukulele workshop at the Town Hall will add to the entertainment.
Celebrating Bold Street is on Sunday 13 August and will see a range of music, performances and offers all day. There will be a marching band from Albert Schloss, DJs in stores like COW and Resurrection, outdoor market stalls from the streets best stores and indoor craft stalls at Leaf with 20+ local makers selling their handmade gifts, prints, jewellery, art, ceramics etc. There’ll also be live music from a local musician Mike Blue, henna artists, free taster samples of locally made limoncello, live product demonstrations and mini workshops. In the street, performers in the form of giant giraffes and lions, children’s craft sessions to create sock puppets, and face painters with fun for the whole family will also take place. There will also be exclusive offers throughout the day from local businesses.
Plus, the Scouse Busker competition will take place across each day with the winning busker winning a free session in a recording studio and a chance to play at the Cavern!
Each day event will take place from 11 am until 6 pm.
Businesses can email marketing@liverpoolbidcompany.com with ideas of how they can take part.

We hope they provide people with a chance to spend a Sunday relaxing in town”.
