For an SME, the prospect of ‘going green’ can seem more than a little daunting. Can we really make an impact? How challenging will it be? How will it affect my bottom line? Who will help me and where do I start?
Marketing Liverpool is currently in the process of tackling these challenges head on and we’re learning a lot . We’d love to take other Liverpool City Region visitor economy businesses along with us on our journey.
Specially designed for businesses who want to go green – and access all the positive rewards this commitment creates, both for the planet and for individual business success – we are developing a series of fun and informative, non-preachy, practical webinars to show you the ropes and deliver a bright and sustainable future for your business and our region.
Kicking things off, our inaugural event will show you how to establish achievable environmental goals and help ensure they are reach with though third-party sustainability accreditations.
Marketing Liverpool’s Head of Busines Tourism, Jenny Jensen, has been leading on the project, which she believes is a fantastic opportunity for our region’s businesses:
“The tangible business benefits of going green can be immeasurable. We know that business and leisure visitors are beginning to make decisions on where they visit, stay and spend their money depending on the environmental credentials of businesses. Going green can also help to attract the best talent, bid and win contracts, gain grants and government funding and even give you the competitive edge and expand your customer base. Simply put, going green is great for business and we’re determined to help Liverpool City Region’s visitor economy get in on the action, taking simple steps to a greener and more prosperous future. That is what these new webinars will deliver, so we’re encouraging all our partners across the region to attend.”
To lead the first webinar, Marketing Liverpool are excited to announce that we have secured the talents of Scott Maclean, Managing Director of Green Tourism. Speaking to Meetings Industry Associate (MIA) earlier this year, Scott said:
“Sustainability, and the drive towards net zero is now more relevant than ever for both venues and destinations. It has never been higher in public awareness. We’ve helped thousands of businesses get greener, saving them money and making a real difference to the environment. I’m proud of the fact that at Green Tourism we’re playing our part in inspiring, shaping, and supporting large scale change with our focus on sustainability. We’re here to help the industry any way we can. “
This new webinar will take place on Tuesday 6 June, from 2 – 2.45pm and will be hosted online on Teams. A teams link will be provided to approved delegates prior to the event.
