Club Liverpool’s Annual Recognition Event recently took place at St George’s Hall for the first time since 2020.

The event brought together Club Liverpool Ambassadors who have helped to bring international conferences and events to the city region in the previous year. Guests enjoyed a reception in the grand North Hall before being presented certificates of recognition by the Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Cllr Roy Gladden, in the stunning Concert Room.

It was a bumper year for Club Liverpool Ambassador led conferences in 2022, with 15 events taking place in Liverpool due to the hard work of the dedicated individuals. The events resulted in the most certificates ever presented at the annual recognition event to date.

The conferences brought to the city through this programme contributed £7.5 million of economic impact in 2022, benefitting hotels, restaurants and tourist attractions. Ambassadors were instrumental in these high-profile events which included the International Conference on Biomechanics in Sports, The International Linear Accelerator Conference, The British Neuro-Oncology Society Annual Meeting and The Symposium of the International Society for Clinical Electrophysiology of Vision.

These events further added to Club Liverpool’s success story with over £78 million of economic impact generated since its inception in 2015 and over 28,000 delegates from around the globe visiting Liverpool.

Club Liverpool Programme Manager, Jane Fawley said:

“We had a fabulous evening in one of Liverpool’s most iconic venues celebrating the great work that our Ambassadors do to shine a light on the fantastic, life-changing work that takes place here whilst also showcasing our vibrant, welcoming city. The Club Liverpool programme is continuing to grow and 2023 will be even bigger with 18 conferences secured by Ambassadors to date.”
