Jennifer Jensen, Head of Business Tourism at Marketing Liverpool has been voted on to The Meetings Industry Association board for a third consecutive year.

The Meetings Industry Association (mia) is the principal association supporting and growing the business meetings and events industry in the UK, and the keeper of AIM, the UK’s only recognised quality standard for the meetings industry. We support our members with research and training and, through a multitude of networking opportunities, we help them to grow and strengthen their business.

Mia looks to ensure venues and suppliers in the meetings, conferences and events sector are given the opportunity to reach the absolute pinnacle of operational and service excellence.

The aim is for their members’ customers to not only have an outstanding experience, but instead believe that by setting aspirational standards, they are encouraging everyone to be the very best they can be.  Mia helps its members to better compete on a local, national and international level and, ultimately, ensure the UK is a destination in demand.

Members only achieve the coveted AIM Secure standard in recognition of operational and service excellence, so it is an award they are truly proud of securing.

Board Members for 2022/23 include: Wyboston Lakes Resort’s Steve Jones of (Chair), Whittlebury Park’s Charles Sargeant (Vice Chair), Robinson College University of Cambridge’s Kevin Breeze (Company Secretary), ACC Liverpool’s Barry Cope (Treasurer), Lime Venue Portfolio’s Jo Austin; NEC Group’s Allan Boyle, Marketing Liverpool’s Jennifer Jensen; VisitBritain/VisitEngland’s Debra Lang; The Grand Brighton and Richmond Hill Hotels’ Andrew Mosley; Green & Fortune’s John Nugent; The Jockey Club’s Christopher Ogston and the QEII Centre’s Mark Taylor.
