Liverpool Food Tours goal is to provide visitors with the ultimate, off the beaten track, food and cultural experience.
This week we’ve caught up with Gareth Boyd from Liverpool Food Tours to tell us more about his business!
How did you get started in the industry?
I love food and travel and always find joining a Food Walking Tour is a great way to learn more about a city – its culture, its history and visit/see venues and taste food/drink that is off the beaten track. I have great memories of fab food tours in places ranging from New York City to Nassau. I love Liverpool. It has so many awesome independent food/drink venues in and around the city, so it was a no-brainer to introduce the food tour concept to Liverpool.
A food tour sounds great! Can you tell us a little more about it?
The best way to describe a food walking tour is ‘walking + getting insight into the city + a lot of food + frink along the way :)’!
I ask my guests to come hungry – I guarantee that by the end of the tour they will leave full! The walking is very easy paced and leisurely.
My guided Food Walking Tours offer a relaxed unique social and memorable experience through the city. The food/drink stops visited are with an array of the best food independents Liverpool has to offer. The tour experience is ideal for all kinds of celebrations – ranging from couples, families, birthdays and corporate events.
What can your guests expect?
During the tour, guests will get to try many different culinary delights, guaranteed to get the taste buds tingling. During a 3 -4 hrs guided food tour, they will enjoy at least 6 food/drink stops (local independents), as well as insight into the history of Liverpool. Dietary requirements (wherever possible) are catered for.
What are you most looking forward to getting back to this summer?
That’s easy – welcoming tour guests back with a BIG smile and showcasing the amazing food/drink and landmarks the city has to offer. Also, getting to reunite the partnership with the fabulous independents that I work with and letting my guests interact with them and experience the passion/creativity on offer.
