Liverpool and St Helens Virtually Welcome Rugby League World Cup Teams

This week we virtually welcomed the Rugby League World Cup teams who will be staying in Liverpool and St Helens next year.

It was great to meet the Tonga representatives Team Manager Scott Clark and Team Coach Kristian Woolf – who is also currently coach at St Helens Rugby Football Club. We also met with Italian representative Tiziano Franchini, a founding figure of the game in Italy, who is really looking forward to sampling our Italian restaurants.

Cllr Wendy Simon introduced the city region and Cllr David Baines, Leader of St Helens, and Cllr Anthony Burns represented St Helens.

Good luck to Kristin this evening Saints face rivals Wigan Warriors in the Super League Grand Final – the ultimate rugby derby!
