For our press team, it’s their job to get Liverpool City Region the local, national and international press coverage it deserves.
Whether that’s major city guides, unique features or even the backdrop to the national weather forecast in Australia (impressive, right?) the team work with journalists from all over the world to help promote the City Region as a place to visit and invest.
Whilst lockdown restrictions mean that traditional press visits have had to change slightly the team have still been working to ensure Liverpool is recognised as a place to visit either now or in the future.
Some of the recent coverage that the team have secured included a special feature in Readers Digest that explored the city’s Beatles heritage with interviews with Beatles tour guide Charlie Martin and owner of Liverpool Beatles Museum Roag Best. The team also recently worked with the guys at Metro to produce a city guide feature on what’s coming up in the city in 2021, making sure Liverpool is firmly in people’s minds as the ideal city break destination for when they feel safe to travel.
Press coverage doesn’t come easy though and the team work tirelessly to pitch stories and keep journalists engaged with what’s happening across the city. Normally a city guide feature will be the result of weeks (or even months) of preparation which see’s the team produce bespoke itineraires and arrange special experiences to ensure the visiting journalists see the very best of what Liverpool has to offer.
We couldn’t do it without our partners though. The press team work alongside many of our partners from across the city to plan out itineraries that often result in money-can’t-buy coverage in leading national and international publications. Without partners hosting journalists whether that’s through a complimentary hotel stay, tickets to attractions or a special meal, the press visits simply wouldn’t have the wow factor that Liverpool has become known for.
The team are always looking to feature as many partners and venues from across the city as possible in press visits so if you would be interested in getting involved to help showcase Liverpool to the world then get in touch with our team…their contact details are below!
