This week’s Working From Diary is brought to you by Sophie, our Digital Marketing Assistant!
Each week we’re asking a member of the team to provide us with their WFH diary to give you an idea of what we’re all up to whilst at home!
About Sophie 👋
Sophie works in our small but mighty digital team! It’s her job to look after our VisitLiverpool social channels and email communications, as well as the VisitLiverpool website.
Sophie’s Diary ✏️
Morning
The alarm goes off at 8am which means I get up, get dressed (I’ve been wearing jeans every day to make me feel somewhat normal) grab a cup of tea and set myself up at my new work from home desk for 9am. I live with three of my friends so we’ve turned the flat into a nice little office space for everyone to work from.
First, I check my emails, write a daily to-do list and then plan what I’m going to do on the VisitLiverpool social channels for the day. Sometimes this requires me to find some last minute content where I might have to go out and take a picture, write a Liverpool themed quiz or make graphics for some Liverpool facts. Depending on what day it is we’ll have a team Zoom catch up too, updating everyone on developments and projects.
Lunch
Living with my friends means the kitchen can get quite crowded once 12pm hits so I usually just grab a quick sandwich and a cup of tea and throw on an episode of Grey’s Anatomy I’ve probably seen about 6 times before.
I struggle to sit still for longer than five minutes without doing something productive so I use this hour to catch up on some projects I have on the go as well. Whether that’s writing an article for Bido Lito!, making a replica of Glastonbury’s Pyramid stage (as you do) to make up for the fact we couldn’t attend this year, a bit of knitting (yes, I am internally 80) or some drawing. In light of LFC’s recent Premier League win (woo!) I have been drawing Mo Salah as my own personal little celebration. It’s not finished yet so don’t judge!
Afternoon
With lunch over and the art supplies away, I head back to my desk and carry on with the rest of the day. We’ve been working non-stop on our new campaign to encourage local people to safely start returning to Liverpool as lockdown measures ease so I spend the afternoon writing blogs & itineraries, looking for images we can use for social and updating the VisitLiverpool website with new guidelines and information.
Evening
Like seemingly everyone else during lockdown, I have taken up running, much to the disappointment of my knees (I knelt down to look in the fridge the other day and couldn’t get back up again) but it’s been a great way to unwind and get out of the house for a bit of fresh air after work.
It’s also a great opportunity to get some photos of our beautiful city for me to use on our social channels as well. Have a look at the VisitLiverpool Twitter, Instagram and Facebook pages to see some of them!
