VisitLiverpool will once again be exhibiting at the British Tourism and Travel show in Birmingham on the 25th and 26th March 2020.
The exhibition, that will be held at NEC Birmingham, will see leading attractions, destinations and venues descend on the arena to meet with travel trade professionals from across the country.
VisitLiverpool will be joined on stand by various partners from across Liverpool City Region, each representing the city’s vast visitor offering. The partners on stand this year are: M&S Bank Arena, Liverpool Football Club, RLB360, National Museums Liverpool, Strawberry Field, Liverpool City Sights, Magical Beatles Museum, Everton Football Club and The Richmond Hotel.
The team on stand, which has been designed in-house by Marketing Liverpool, will be showcasing Liverpool’s vast visitor offering highlighting everything from the city’s cultural heritage, music links and sporting successes to the new and existing venues and attractions that make up the visitor economy landscape.
The exhibition will also mark the launch of the latest Liverpool for Groups Guide, produced annually by the Marketing Liverpool team, that offers the ultimate advice and information for tour operators and groups looking to visit the city region. James Wood, Campaign Manager at Marketing Liverpool, is once again leading Liverpool’s attendance at the show and is looking forward to showing off the city to a wealth of Travel Trade professionals.
“We look forward to attending BTTS every year and once again we’ll be on stand to show off our wonderful city region. We’re really excited this year as we’ve got a comprehensive team of partners exhibiting with us, all of whom personify what makes the Liverpool visitor offer so unique and enticing.
“From hotels to leading visitor attractions and tour guides, we’ve got all aspects of the travel itinerary covered making the Liverpool stand this year a one stop shop for trip planning,” he explained.
The Marketing Liverpool team have also arranged a panel discussion for the event. And The Beat Goes On…How Does a UNESCO City of Music Drive Tourism will see major players in Liverpool’s music tourism scene discuss how a city with so much musical history can use it to its advantage, driving further tourism to the area. The panel will feature Julia Baird, honorary president of Strawberry Field and sister of John Lennon, Kevin McManus, head of UNESCO City of Music for Liverpool and Roag Best, owner of Magical Beatles Museum and brother to the original Beatles drummer Pete Best. The panel will be chaired by Paul Beesley, Chair of The Association of Liverpool Tour Guides and will take place in the Keynote Theatre on day one of the exhibition (Wednesday 25th) at 12.45pm. Following the panel talk the team will also be holding a drinks reception on the Liverpool stand at 2pm.
The VisitLiverpool stand will also be home to the Champions League Trophy thanks to Liverpool Football Club after the red’s won the title last June meaning football fans at the exhibition can pop by to get their photo taken with the silverware. Also on stand will be a sculpture brought along by Magical Beatles Museum for fans of the Fab Four to check out.
