Marketing Liverpool has just returned from a successful sales mission in New York.
Using the Liverpool FC v Sporting Lisbon pre-season match at the Yankee Stadium as the hook, Marketing Liverpool developed and delivered an opportunity for tourism partners to help raise their profile and deliver new business.
Activity centred around a networking event at Carragher’s Bar in Manhattan where a mix of around 25 media, tour operators and meeting planners met with our partners Liverpool FC, Titanic Hotel, Strawberry Field, Beatles Story and British Music Experience.
Special guests included Liverpool FC Chief Executive, Peter Moore and Liverpool legend Sami Hyypia – plus the European Champions League cup! Following the networking event the whole group were then whisked up to the Yankees stadium to watch the game.
Additional activity during the visit included sales meetings with Virgin Atlantic, tour operators and a live radio interview for BBC Radio Merseyside from the John Lennon Memorial in Central Park. All partners also presented to VisitBritain’s New York team which was a great opportunity to highlight new product and the latest developments.
