Marketing Liverpool along with a number of city partners head to New York to sell the city
This month Liverpool FC are heading to North America for their pre-season tour. The highlight of the trip is their game against Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon at the iconic Yankee Stadium in New York.
With huge American interest in the club, particularly after Liverpool’s sixth European Champions League win, this represents an excellent marketing opportunity for Liverpool City Region. North America is one of Liverpool’s strongest long haul markets, with real potential for future growth. Liverpool’s key themes of music, sport and culture provide plenty of things to see and do with the city being the ideal base to explore the North West.
Keen to make the most out of this opportunity, Marketing Liverpool has pulled together a Liverpool delegation to head to the States, working closely with Liverpool FC and VisitBritain, as well as city partners including The Beatles Story, Titanic Hotel, Strawberry Field, British Music Experience. We have worked together to deliver a networking event around the game that targets travel trade, meetings organisers and media. The event is being held at Carragher’s Bar, Manhattan with networking continuing at the match. In addition to this, we have arranged key meetings with Virgin Atlantic, Executive Global Tours and VisitBritain separate from the main event.
The project represents an ideal opportunity for Liverpool partners to network and develop new business opportunities, and we’ll be represented by James Wood and Suzanne Watson.
