Liverpool is approaching the end of a landmark year after celebrating ten years since being crowned the European Capital of Culture and now there’s only one thing on everyone’s minds: Christmas.
The season will officially start in Liverpool next week when the city will be lit up with lights and decorations. A festive street party will take over Liverpool ONE from 4pm-8pm which will mark the unveiling of a brand new light installation on Chavasse Park; Polaris Dare to Dream.
Other key Christmas events include the return of Liverpool Christmas Ice Festival to the Pier Head and the Christmas Markets on St George’s Plateau meanwhile Santa Claus himself will take up home in part of Liverpool Town Hall for Storytime with Santa. The pantomime is also coming to town meaning you’ll be shouting “He’s Behind You!” long after you’ve returned home.
Marketing Liverpool have been working hard over the past few months (for us, Christmas starts VERY early!) to ensure the Christmas in Liverpool campaign is a success. With brand new Christmas additions to the VisitLiverpool website, Christmas press trips planned and stunning new artwork that’s set to adorn the city; we’re already counting down to the big day!
This Christmas, it has to be Liverpool.
