Entries Open for Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards 2019!

Entries are now officially open for the prestigious Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards 2019 and next year there will be a new venue and some new categories!

Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral will play host to the 2019 ceremony on Thursday 16 May.

Paul Smith, Director of Enterprise, Liverpool Anglican Cathedral, said:

“We’re really delighted to be the host venue chosen for next year’s Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards.  As the current holders of the Large Visitor Attraction Award we have first-hand experience of the tremendous benefits which these prestigious awards bring and would therefore urge any potential entrants to fill out their submission.”

There are 17 categories to choose from in total which cover the whole industry so there should be something for everyone. New for 2019 is the ‘Hidden Gem’ category which will be voted for by the public and will recognise the region’s ‘best kept secret’ or ‘must see’ thing to see and do across the region.

Other category changes include the previously named ‘Taste’ award being split into ‘Restaurant of the Year’ and ‘Cafe/Bistro of the Year’. The award for Tourism Event of the Year will also be split into large and small.

Peter Sandman, Head of Visitor Economy for the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), said:

“These awards have built up a strong reputation for rewarding and celebrating the very best of our impressive tourism sector.

“Holding the event in such a stunning venue will create a very special atmosphere and make next year’s awards unmissable. With entries now open I would strongly encourage all businesses to take a look at the application forms and get your entries in early.”
