Last weekend (4-7th October), Liverpool played host to the last ever Giant Spectacular, organised by Royal de Luxe and Culture Liverpool. To say goodbye to the Giants, our digital team followed their every step across the city!
1.3 million people took to the streets of Liverpool and Wirral for a spectacular 4 days of live street theatre as we welcomed back Xolo the dog and the Giant, as well as a new visitor, Little Boy Giant and a special surprise visit from Little Girl Giant. The whole route amounted to 21 miles that featured lots of surprises along the way – from Xolo jumping up to bus stops to Little Boy Giant fishing to the tune of Yellow Submarine.
Across the weekend, our digital team ensured they followed every single moment – keeping our Visit Liverpool audiences updated across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. With a minute by minute plan, ample power packs, plenty of snacks and comfy shoes, they managed to rack up some pretty impressive stats, as outlined below:
Social Stats (as of 1pm 07/10/18)
Impressions across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram reached 1,233,622.
Engagements across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram reached 59,844.
