City Welcomes Labour Party Conference

Liverpool was once again chosen as the host city for the Labour Party Annual Conference 2018.

We hosted conference in 2011 and 2016 and were delighted when we received news that the Labour Party Conference would be returning. Once again, delegates told us what a great time they were having and just like previous conferences the sun shined bright.

At this year’s conference, Invest Liverpool had their very own stand, which welcomed lots of visitors from party members to international delegations and the media. Adam Boulton and Kay Burley from Sky News popped by and Kay was so impressed, she asked to use our stand for a piece on her new daytime programme on Sky News ‘The Kay Burley Show’, which launched that day. We were more than happy to oblige and even had the opportunity for Cathy Skelly from the Invest Liverpool team to do a 20 second sound bite on the work of the Invest Liverpool team.

We also received visits from shadow ministers and local MPs and had the opportunity to also update them on the work of Invest Liverpool as well as providing information on Biennial, the final return of the Giants and lots more.

Mayor Joe Anderson also visited and had the honour of presenting awards for best stands at the event.

Our exhibition stand was designed and managed by Marketing Liverpool in-house. We managed the external dressing at key locations around the city including digital screens on the M62, Kensington, Edge Lane and Derby Road and dressing around ACC Liverpool exterior.

A huge congratulations also goes to ACC Liverpool and all city partners on delivery of another successful conference which showcased the city offer to a global audience.
