MARKETING LIVERPOOL AT WORLD TRAVEL MARKET
On Tuesday 7 November, Marketing Liverpool and Culture Liverpool arranged an event to announce the first phase of Liverpool’s 2018 programme at the world’s biggest travel and tourism event.
World Travel Market in London is the leading global event for the travel industry, generating more than £2.8 billion of business contracts between attendees. Now in its 37th year, the show attracts a global audience that shapes the travel industry year upon year.
The event held by Marketing Liverpool and Culture Liverpool at World Travel Market was attended by 25–30 travel operators and media as Robin Kemp of Culture Liverpool outlined some of the major events taking place next year.
The event was hosted by Marketing Liverpool’s Chris Brown with a panel discussion facilitated by Guardian Travel Editor Jane Dunford and the programme was endorsed by Drew Stokes of VisitBritain.
This is the latest phase of engagement with travel and tour operators as well as media to raise awareness and interest in the Liverpool 2018 programme. It follows recent international trips to Los Angeles and Oslo to maximise international interest.
All attendees including those invited will be treated to the full programme of events when it is announced on 30 November.

Over three days of World Travel Market, Visit Liverpool met with tour operators from across the globe to discuss new business opportunities and developments in the city. All meetings included an overview of the 2018 events programme with contacts made to follow up with updates.
